About Pacific Mackerel
Pacific Mackerel is widely distributed along the northwest Pacific coast, in waters off China, Japan and Korea. Warm water pelagic fishes. Strong photo taxis at night, with vertical movement of day and night. It feeds widely on plank tonic crustaceans and young fish. Strong swimming ability, can make long-distance migration. In spring and summer, it inhabits the middle and upper layers, and in the reproductive season, it integrates large groups to spawn offshore. The reproductive period is from March to June, the peak period is from April to May, and the eggs are laid in batches. Oval, floating, transparent, with oil globules.
