Frozen illex squid also known as the Chinese Squid, is a Marine cephalopod mollusk of the genus Lepidoidea, family Lepidoidea of the order Lepidoidea.Frozen illex squid has a slender body with ten tentacles around the mouth, eight longer and two shorter, a vestiged inner shell, and a pair of triangular or circular fins. There are 30 species of squid in the whole genus, and 10 species in China.
