Seafood horse mackerel (Latin name: Trachurus japonicus), also known as mackerel fish, larvin fish. It's a fish of the caranx family.
The main morphological characteristics of the fish are 50 to 213 mm long. The body is fusiform and slightly flattened. The head is nearly conical, the eyes are large, and the LIDS are well developed. Habitat
Horse mackerel fish is warm-water cluster water swimming fish, often living in the middle, sometimes close to the bottom. It is often mixed with Caranx in the long area. During the day the water layer is deep, and at night it has the habit of phototaxis. When the wind is calm, the tide is slow, the southeast wind and the south wind blow, it is easy to start at dawn or dusk, and the optimal temperature of the group is 19 ~ 21℃. Life Habit
The East China Sea bambusichthys can be divided into three populations: North Kyushu Group, Middle East China Sea Group and South East China Sea Group. The central East China Sea group appears in the central East China Sea from January to March, its spawning period is from January to May, and its peak period is from February to March. Some fish may migrate to the western waters of Kyushu, and some migrate to the Yellow Sea. After spawning, the parent fish and young fish gather bait and fertilize near the spawning ground, and return to the winter ground in the central East China Sea at the end of autumn.
Feeding Habits
Small floating animals such as copepods, cladicorn krill and bran shrimp larvae are the main food for young and young fish. In addition to plankton such as krill, bran shrimp, crustacean larvae and sardine larvae, there are also small fish and cephalopods in the juvenile to adult fish stage. The feeding species is related to the dominant species of Marine food species. The feeding intensity was highest in spring and autumn, medium in summer and lowest in winter.
